Our Brugada Family
It's a busy household with 4 children but we absolutely love having our house filled with love! This website and blog was created focusing on Darcie after her diagnosis back in 2019. Since then, a lot (and I mean a lot) has happened and this has transformed into a sharing not only Darcie's story, but all of our children's journey's through the eyes of me - their mom.
When Darcie was diagnosed, me and my wonderful husband Joe, felt lost when trying to search for information and stories about babies diagnosed with Brugada. We felt so alone. Don't get me wrong, there's a hell of a lot of information about Brugada but nothing really related to children and especially babies. If we felt alone, then surely other parents in the same situation would too, so I started typing and created this website. If we can help just one other family in the same situation as ours - having a baby and subsequently other children diagnosed with Brugada, or other rare heart arrhythmia conditions - then we feel like sharing our family story has achieved something.
The family...
Darcie and Harper are identical twins who are now 4 years old. Darcie is 2 minutes older than Harper and the most chilled of the two - Harper is more lively but they both are so placid and happy - always humming and singing!!
Big brother Bailey is 13 and surrounded by girls in the house but is the best big brother ever and adores his sisters! A typical boy, he loves playing on his XBox, Rubik's cubes, scootering and rock climbing.
Darcie's big sister Caitlin is 15 and absolutely dotes on the girls with her loving, caring nature. She is phenomenal at playing the electric guitar and loves adding to her vinyl collection!
So do they have Brugada?
Unfortunately genetic testing and ECG's have transpired that all of our children are effected by Brugada. Read and follow our blog with updates for each of our beautiful children.
